A 2002 graduate of Western Michigan University, musician Jimmy Atto is no stranger to the open road. Since graduating from college, Atto has performed as a solo artist in venues all around the United States.
A songwriter/vocalist/guitarist, he first gained experience performing in front of audiences
at local coffee shops and college campuses around Michigan.
The release of his debut CD, Time Is Right highlights Atto's impressive vocal range, as well as his charming poetic lyrics. This album showed his early influences of other artists such as Matchbox Twenty, U2, and John Mayer (among others).
For over two years, Jimmy has been a one-man outfit. He has booked his own shows at colleges, cafes, listening rooms, and other venues from coast to coast,
and receives radio airplay at various college radio stations.
He has become well-known for his energetic stage presence, harmonica-playing, between song commentary, and the grass-roots approach to promoting his music.
The latest step is a follow-up to the debut. In August of 2004, Jimmy came back with a brand new full-length album entitled,
"Low Carb LP."
This new collection of diverse songs shows a growth in the songwriting process,
guitar playing skills vocal ability, and new influences (Keb' Mo', Jack Johnson, David Gray).
Jimmy has been welcomed back to the majority of venues where he has performed.
Determined to succeed in a highly competitive business, Jimmy Atto will continue to pursue his dream and please his fans by making beautiful and lyrically astounding music.
