Biography
George was born and raised by his parents, Wilson and Helen, in Tehran, Iran in 1952. He was named after his grandfather George, a Greek who resided in Iran. His mother learned to speak Assyrian after she married his father, and made sure that all three of her sons learned their father’s language. George also became fluent in Persian, Armenian, Turkish, Greek and English, as well as Assyrian, and can perform in all six languages. Since his childhood, his father encouraged his involvement in outdoor sports such as fishing, hunting and soccer. He developed such a skill for soccer that in the 1970’s, he became captain of the Assyrian Winged Bull soccer team in Chicago.

When he was only four years old, George realized his passion for music. He enjoyed listening to different types of music, and had many favorite singers. He attended primary school and high school in Tehran, and graduated in 1971. He then decided to continue his education in the United States by studying Architecture at UIC in Chicago.

During his college years, he also managed to develop his own band, and started gaining popularity in the Assyrian community.

In 1978, George was invited to sing at a fundraising event for Assyrian scouts in Tehran, which was organized by the Assyrian scout leader, Younathan Bet-Koila.

After the release of his first album in 1970’s, George’s popularity among Assyrian grew even more. He was invited to participate in numerous fundraisers, Assyrian conventions and Assyrian parties not only in the United States, but also in Australia, Germany, Sweden, Canada and England.

George now has three children and he has been married to his wife, Margaret, since 1979. George followed in his father’s footsteps by making sure that all three of his children and even his wife (who was born in Poland), learned the Assyrian language.

His oldest daughter, Helen, who is named after her grandmother, is an Attorney-At-Law and is practicing in Chicago, IL.

His son Albert, who was named after George’s beloved uncle, has two degrees, in Computer and Electrical Engineering, and recently graduated with a Masters Degree in computer Engineering.

His youngest daughter, Mary, is a junior at De Paul University, studying to become a college Professor in English.

Currently, George is working as the managing broker and the owner of SKY HIGH Real Estate in Lincolnwood. Even though managing over 50 real estate agents in his brokerage is his full time job, music is and will always be, his full time passion.
