Bassel Haggie, born and raised in Hassake Syria. As a little boy he allready had a big passion for music and especially for singing. At the age of 6, signs of artistic sensations appeared on his face every time he heard a song or a tender voice from the TV or radio, or even from his own parents. In 1989, when he and his family immigrated to Germany, Bassel immediatally started to take music lessons. In a matter of time, Bassel formed a music band with his brothers. And now a new band was born, Gudo d'Minerva. With ofcourse, Bassel as the leadsinger. Said, his oldest brother with the bassguitar, Yasser played the jazz and Ziad the youngest one of the boys, the keyboard. After allot of practise the band was ready to perform on stage. They soon started to get asked to play in weddingparties and hagos.
Bassel sings in several styles and languages, for example: arabic, suryoyo, assyrian, mardelli, turkish, kurdi and Chobi.
"Music is my passion," he explains, "Music is becoming a part of my life. When I'm make music, I forget everything that is around me or troubles me."
Bassel as the leadsinger of his band also can play allot of music instruments like jazz, keyboard, synthesizer and bezik.
Bassel seems ready to take his music career to the next level with the release of his new music video, Al men Didach. He as one of the first ones feels the need to show the other suryoye singers the way to shoot a music video. "It's the duty of every suryoyo singer to advertise himself to the world. Our unique music must be heard!", "This is for sure one of the biggest projects of my career so far," he explains.
